KAS Global Edge was founded by Kim Schawbel, a global executive leader with expertise in strategy, operations, and governance across private equity and financial services. Kim is recognized for her ability to scale businesses, optimize operations, build partnerships, and lead organizations through transitions and growth initiatives.
With leadership roles at HarbourVest Partners, State Street Global Advisors, Wellington Management, and Fidelity Investments, Kim has:
- Driven global expansion, establishing and operationalizing offices in markets across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
- Led complex investment operations, including a $2B+ secondary transaction involving Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) investing in portfolios of primary partnerships and co-investments.
- Optimized vendor and partner relationships, enhancing service provider performance and operational efficiencies.
- Partnered with executive leadership and boards to align operations, risk management, and financial strategy for growth and efficiency.
Beyond financial services, Kim is committed to advancing healthcare governance. Kim brings board and governance experience, serving on the Leadership and Advisor boards at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Needham, monitoring progress against strategic plans and performance goals.
Known for aligning cross-functional teams, streamlining governance, and scaling organizations, Kim thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. As a Massachusetts resident and proud native of Maine, Kim has deep family roots where her family has a history as potato farmers, merchants, and sweater mill operators. Her upbringing instilled a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for resilience, entrepreneurship, and innovation. A lifelong swimmer and tennis player, she competed on her college varsity teams and continues to embrace the discipline, strategy, and perseverance that sports have instilled in her.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys travel, photography, golf, and spending time with her family. Whether leading business transformations or exploring new places, she approaches every challenge with passion, precision, and adaptability.
